The origin of ATAMAN Kimya dates back to the establishment of Selale Kimya, one of the group companies, in Beyoglu, Istanbul, by Sokrati Karacaoğlu of Greek heritage in the 1940s.
Selale Kimya is the first company to produce distilled water in Istanbul.
In 1980, Cengiz Tuncel took over Selale Kimya, and in 2006, he founded ATAMAN Kimya Ltd. to import and export raw materials.
ATAMAN Kimya Ltd. was handed over to the next generation by Cengiz Tuncel in 2009 and was renamed ATAMAN Kimya INC. in 2021.
